Where I ramble and tell complete strangers about my life. It will probably include knitting.

And all is well.

We had the big mid-way ultrasound this morning and everything was fine. The baby is the right size, has arms, legs, brain, four chamber heart, three vessel umbilical cord, kidneys, bladder, stomach, in short, it looks just perfect. It was amazing to see it move and look like a real little baby, not the blob I saw last time I got a peak. Seeing it looked just like every other video I've every seen of a baby in ultrasound but it still blew me away a bit to think 'my baby'.
I'd been a bit worried that I hadn't felt it move yet and got an explanation for that today. The baby is snuggled right up against the placenta and so everytime it kicks or waves, it hits the placenta and not me! So I'll be a bit late in feeling it, meh.

I've been right in to the knitting lately too. I've finished the spencer, and not a moment to soon, it's just perfect for the warm early spring weather we've been getting. I was going to block it properly, but it seems to be comming into shape from just wearing it and giving it a good tug, so I'll leave it at that. Booties and baby sock also seem to be flying of the needles, I'll try to remember to get a photo of all this next time.

baby news

We had our next OB's visit today. All is well. The baby has a heartbeat around 145, I have good blood pressure, have gained enough, but not too much weight, and the belly is big enough. I am a happy girl.

So it's full speed ahead for a trip we've been planning for ages. Ikea! We're going to be buying a change table, high chair, lots of stuff we've been looking at for a long time, and now we are actually going to get it. Btw, we won't be needing the high chair for a while, but the steady procession of babies visiting could use it. After Ikea, we're continuing up the coast to spend a few days with Mr b^3's parents, which should be fun.

Morning sickness is getting better, I don't think there will be a date at which I can say I'm finished but rather a really slow evaporation of symptoms.

Should finish now, the computer is next to a bowl of toffee betsy made and I probably should get away from it.
